Darbhanga To Delhi Flight: Darbhanga residents have a reason to celebrate as Akasa Airlines has officially started its flight services between Darbhanga and Delhi. The addition of this new airline is expected to improve connectivity and provide passengers with more travel options.

The first flight is set to take off on Friday at 11:30 AM, with an estimated travel time of 1 hour and 55 minutes. With Akasa joining the existing operators, SpiceJet and IndiGo, air travel from Darbhanga is becoming more convenient for passengers as per a report by Jagran.com.

Akasa Air Takes Off from Darbhanga Airport

Akasa Airlines has completed all necessary preparations for launching its operations from Darbhanga Airport. Flight QP 1405 will depart from Delhi at 9:00 AM, reaching Darbhanga by 10:55 AM. After a 35-minute layover, the flight will take off again at 11:30 AM, arriving in Delhi by 1:25 PM.

According to Darbhanga Airport Director Naveed Nazim, all airport-related arrangements have been finalised to ensure smooth flight operations. Akasa's entry into the Darbhanga aviation sector is expected to enhance passenger convenience significantly.

Rising Demand for Air Travel from Darbhanga

Since its launch under the UDAN scheme on November 8, 2020, Darbhanga Airport has seen a surge in passenger traffic. Initially, SpiceJet was the only airline operating flights to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Later, IndiGo introduced services to Hyderabad and Kolkata, further expanding travel options for passengers. The demand for flights on the Delhi and Mumbai routes has been particularly high, often leading to challenges such as delays and last-minute cancellations.

To address this issue, IndiGo launched a Mumbai-Darbhanga service on December 1, 2024, operating on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, on December 12, 2024, IndiGo increased its Delhi-Darbhanga frequency to daily flights. Now, with Akasa Airlines entering the market, travellers from Mithilanchal and even Nepal are welcoming the improved connectivity.

Smooth Operations at Darbhanga Airport

On Thursday, Darbhanga Airport witnessed the operation of 10 flights, all of which arrived ahead of schedule:

- SpiceJet's flight from Mumbai (SG 115) landed at 9:00 AM on time.

- IndiGo’s Kolkata flight (6E7234) reached 8 minutes early at 11:55 AM.

- SpiceJet’s Delhi flight (SG 475) arrived 33 minutes ahead of schedule at 12:15 PM.

- IndiGo’s Hyderabad flight (6E537) landed 15 minutes early at 2:20 PM.

- IndiGo’s Delhi flight (6E360) reached on time at 4:00 PM.

With Akasa Airlines expanding its operations, air travel from Darbhanga is set to become more reliable and accessible.
