Gaya Town, Bodh Gaya Election Results 2025 Live Updates: Counting Begins Across 10 Seats; BJP's Prem Kumar Leading In Early Trends

Ajay Kumar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal is leading in Tikari with 11,662 votes, holding a margin of 4,334 votes. Anil Kumar of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) is trailing with 7,328 votes, reflecting the same deficit in the latest trends.,

The Barachatti Assembly constituency (228) is witnessing a contest between the NDA (HAM) candidate Jyoti Devi, the outgoing MLA and sister-in-law of Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, and RJD candidate Tanushree Kumari.,

Shyamdeo Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is leading from the Bodh Gaya Assembly seat with 22,941 votes, holding a strong margin of 6,323 votes. RJD candidate Kumar Sarvjeet is trailing with 16,618 votes, reflecting the same deficit in the latest trends.,

The Bodhgaya Assembly seat is witnessing a close contest between NDA (LJP-R) candidate Shyamdev Paswan and RJD candidate Dr. Kumar Sarvjeet, a former minister. Key issues shaping the voters’ mood in the constituency include development, migration, and access to quality education.,

Prem Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading with 5,493 votes, holding a strong margin of 2,401 votes. Akhaury Onkar Nath of the Indian National Congress is trailing with 3,092 votes, reflecting the same deficit in the early trends.,

The BJP is currently ahead on 52 seats, closely followed by the RJD with leads in 51 constituencies. The JD(U) has taken the lead in 42 seats, while the Congress is ahead in six. Overall, the NDA is leading in 95 seats, whereas the Mahagathbandhan holds an edge in 58 seats as per the latest trends.,

Postal ballots are counted separately before the EVM votes. On counting day, the postal department delivers all ballots to the designated counting centres, where election officials verify each one for validity. Because these ballots are counted first, they often shape the early lead trends seen on television, and the final voter turnout is calculated only after adding all valid postal ballots.,

The Election Commission of India has begun releasing the first set of early trends, showing the BJP leading on five seats. As per the initial data, the party is ahead in Sahebganj, Baruraj, Aurai, Rajnagar and Kumhrar. These figures are expected to evolve as counting progresses.,

Postal ballots, also known as mail-in ballots, allow eligible voters to cast their vote without visiting a polling booth. This option is available to those unable to be physically present in their home constituency due to government or defence postings, health limitations, disabilities, or engagement in essential services on polling day. Over the past decade, the Election Commission of India has expanded the system to include electronically transmitted postal ballots for certain categories of voters.,

Counting of votes has begun in Bihar’s Gaya Town, with initial trends indicating that BJP’s Prem Kumar is currently in the lead.,

Gaya Ji DM Shashank Shubhankar said, "All the preparations have been made. There is a complete ban on victory rallies, as the model code of conduct remains in place. There is no issue anywhere. We have sufficient force. Everything is being done in a transparent manner.",

Ahead of the counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025, RJD leader Vishwanath Kumar Singh expressed optimism, stating that there is widespread support and a strong desire for change in the state, adding that the formation of Tejashwi Yadav’s government is imminent.,

The counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 has begun, determining the fate of candidates in all 243 constituencies across 38 districts of the state. Simultaneously, counting has also started for Assembly by-elections in eight constituencies across six states and one Union Territory.,

The Gaya district encompasses 10 Assembly constituencies, which fall under the Gaya region. These are Bodh Gaya (SC), Gaya Town, Tikari, Belaganj, Atri, Wazirganj, Rajauli (SC), Sherghati, Imamganj (SC), and Barachatti (SC).,

Voting in the Gaya district was held on November 11 during Phase 2 of the Bihar elections 2025. Gaya Ji is a major city in Bihar and serves as the administrative centre of both the Gaya district and the Magadh division. Located approximately 116 kilometres south of Patna, it is the second-largest city in the state.,
