Greenfield Expressway Updates: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Sunday gave approval for the construction of a six-lane Greenfield corridor between Ramnagar and Kachchi Dargah in Patna. In a post on X, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that a total amount of Rs 1082.85 crore has been granted for the ambitious project.

The six-lane greenfield corridor between Ramnagar and Kachchidargah is a part of the much-hyped Amas-Darbhanga Highway, which is set to give an economic boost to the state. The Amas-Darbhanga Highway will improve transportation in the state by providing direct connectivity between National Highways NH 19 and NH-57.

Earlier, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) stated that apart from providing major convenience to the residents alongside the project, the Amas-Darbhanga Highway will also be used to carry goods and products, ensuring a financial boost to the state. In his post on X, Nitin Gadkari stated that the project will connect the rural regions of Bihar to several neighbouring states, including West Bengal, Assam, and Jharkhand.

"As part of Amas-Darbhanga Highway in Patna district of Bihar, construction of 6-lane Access Controlled Greenfield Corridor from Ramnagar to Kacchi Dargah on National Highway-119D (including widening of existing National Highway-31) has been approved at a cost of Rs. 1082.85 crore," Gadkari posted.

"Amas-Darbhanga Project will provide direct connectivity between two economic corridors, National Highway-02 (New NH-19) and National Highway-57 (New NH-27), and will also improve connectivity of interior parts of Bihar with West Bengal, Jharkhand, and North Eastern States. This will help in improving the efficiency of long route traffic in the eastern part of the country," he added.

Apart from this, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways also gave approval to one other project in the state. The ministry has approved the construction plan to connect NH 27 and NH 327 E in Kishanganj district. The spur is set to be constructed on the four-lane between Kishanganj and Bahadurganj. The total length of the project is 24.84 kilometers, and the ministry has sanctioned Rs 1,117 crore for it.
