Patna IndiGo Flight: A Patna-bound IndiGo flight, 6E 2482, from Delhi resorted to a go-around while attempting to land at the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Bihar's capital city on Tuesday, news agency PTI reported, quoting sources.
The aircraft with 173 passengers onboard went a go-around due to an unstabilised approach during the first attempt to land. The pilots did not make a touchdown during the initial approach. The IndiGo flight landed safely on the second attempt at the Patna airport.
The sources said the go-around was a standard safety procedure and was carried out as a precaution. They stated, "It was a normal and safe manoeuvre. The pilot opted for the go-around to ensure a stable landing approach."
What Is Go-Around Process?
A Go-around is a commonly practised in aviation when the pilots feel that the approach of the plane does not meet safety or stability parameters. The situation can occur due to several reasons, including weather conditions and other operational factors. Pilots take a call in the final moment before landing.
