Following the announcement in the Union Budget to promote the manufacturing of sports goods, the possibility of establishing production centres for sports equipment in Muzaffarpur district has increased. This will make cricket bats, balls, sports kits, badminton rackets, footballs, and other sports materials available to the district's players at cheaper rates.

In the budget, a sum of Rs 10,000 crore has been allocated to encourage Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) related to sports across the country. This will pave the way for the opening of sports goods manufacturing units in the district's industrial areas.
