Nitish Hijab Row: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's security has been significantly tightened after a threat video emerged on social media on Thursday amid the Hijab row. Nitish drew severe criticism after he removed hijab of woman doctor during an appointment letter distribution ceremony for AYUSH doctors in Patna.

The Chief Minister's security is handled by the Special Security Group (SSG), a unit of the Bihar Police, which has now been instructed to further tighten its protective measures. District Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) across Bihar have also been issued specific directions. According to police sources, only ministers and a few senior officials will now be allowed to approach the Chief Minister. Any special meeting requests will require prior permission and a thorough background verification.

Additional security protocols will be implemented during visits to sensitive areas, and police will maintain heightened vigilance over the Chief Minister's movements.

A video emerged on social media in which a man is seen threatening the chief minister that if Nitish did not apologise, he may may face dire consequences. Earlier, a foreign-based gangster also threatened the Bihar chief minister.

News agency IANS, quoting sources, reported that Nitish will now remain under a much stricter security cordon, and access to him will be limited to a select group of individuals. Sources said intelligence inputs indicated possible threats from anti-social and criminal elements after the Hijab row sparked widespread political and social outrage.

Pakistani Gangster Threatens Nitish Kumar

According to media reports, a Pakistani gangster identified as Shahzad Bhatti released a video allegedly threatening the CM, prompting the Bihar Police to register an FIR in the matter.

Intelligence agencies have also shared security-related inputs with the state police. Following a high-level review, the Director General of Police (DGP) and senior officials decided to enhance Nitish's security arrangements.

Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar said, "I have handed this matter to IG Patna. We have not received any further details.The social media post is being investigated."

Giriraj Singh Says Woman Doctor Can 'Go To Hell'

Union Minister Giriraj Singh defended Nitish's act of pulling down a Muslim woman's veil at a public event. As opposition parties asked Kumar for an unconditional apology and others articulated their distress, Singh waded right into the row and said it is up to the woman to refuse the appointment or "go to hell". Singh insisted that the Bihar CM had done nothing wrong.

"If someone is going to collect an appointment letter, should they not show their face? Is this some Islamic country? Nitish Kumar acted as a guardian," he argued.

"If you are going to get a passport, do you not show your face? When you go to the airport, do you not show your face? People talk about Pakistan and Englishtan, but this is India. In India, the rule of law prevails," Singh said and added that Kumar did the right thing.
