Patna Metro Update: The Patna Metro did not operate on Wednesday due to unexpected technical reasons, the Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) informed. In its advisory, the authority stated that the metro services were unavailable due to the technical issues, adding that the services will be restored shortly. The PMRCL further apologised for the inconveniences and requested the passengers to utilise other public transport to avoid the rush. It further advised the commuters to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences. Metro services in the capital city have provided relief to thousands of commuters by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion.
The first corridor of the Patna metro was inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on October 6. The metro has connected several regions of Patna, including Bhutnath, Zero Mile, and ISBT. While the metro witnessed a significant surge in passengers in the past few weeks, a sudden disruption in the services is likely to lead to inconveniences for the commuters. The corporation has urged the commuters to cooperate and stay updated for further changes in the schedule.
The metro services between Bhoothnath and Malahi Pakri is also likely to begin in the upcoming months, providing a significant boost to the regional connectivity. The authority stated that this will extend the metro service to a total of five stations. It further stated that over 90 per cent of the construction work has already been completed, adding that the remaining work will also be completed soon.
While the Malahi Pakri station is already ready for use, construction work at the Khemnichak station is expected to finish soon. Final preparations, including testing, signalling, and safety checks, are currently underway. Once these procedures are completed and operational approval is granted, the new section will be officially launched.

The extension of metro services between Bhootnath Road and Malahi Pakdi will provide residents in East Patna with quicker and more convenient access to key areas in the city.
