Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday conducted a detailed review of the ongoing construction work of the Patna Metro Rail Project. As part of the inspection, the Chief Minister visited the construction sites of Malahi Pakadi and Bhootnath Metro Stations and directed officials to accelerate the pace of the project to ensure timely completion.
Emphasising the importance of the project for easing urban transportation in the capital, Kumar said, “We have designed the Patna Metro Rail Project with a forward-looking vision. Continuous monitoring is underway, and officials have been instructed to avoid any delays or hindrances in execution.”

Urban Development and Housing Department Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh presented a detailed update on the project’s progress through site maps. He briefed the Chief Minister on the various facilities planned at Malahi Pakadi Metro Station, including escalators, ticket counters, passenger areas, lifts, platform access, and other commuter amenities.
The government has prioritised the construction of the 6.20-kilometer stretch from Malahi Pakadi to the Pataliputra Bus Terminal, covering key stations such as Khemnichak, Bhootnath Road, and Zeromile. The targeted completion date for this corridor is August 15, 2025. The Bihar government has allocated Rs 115.10 crore towards the project’s implementation.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Jivesh Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister at the site. Also present were Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Secretary Kumar Ravi, Divisional Commissioner Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, District Magistrate Dr Tyag Rajan SM, Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar, and senior officials from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Patna Metro Rail Project.
