Raghopur Assembly Election Result 2025 Live Updates: Tejashwi Yadav Maintains Lead In Early Trends Against BJP Candidate

Earlier on Thursday, Tejashwi Yadav stated that all the activities of the administrators are being watched, adding that the "public will take care" if any wrong step will be taken while counting of votes. 

Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav stated that the Mahagathbandhan will form a government in the state. "We are going to win. Thanks to everyone. A change is about to come. We are forming the government," the RJD leader stated.

Tejashwi Yadav has maintained a lead over Satish Kumar in the early trends. The RJD leader is contesting to register victory from Raghopur for the third consecutive times. 

Tejashwi Yadav promised that the Mahagathbandhan government will provide at least one government job in every house of the state if elected to the power. While the NDA leaders claimed that the promise was not financially feasible, Tejashwi stated that he has the roadmap to fulfill the promise.

RJD leader has gained a lead over his rival and BJP candidate Satish Kumar in the early trends. Thenexact numbers are likely to be announced shortly.

Election Commission of India (ECI) begins vote counting for Bihar Assembly Election 2025. Trends are expected to become clear by noon. 

The Election Commission of India (ECI) will begin the counting of votes for all the seats at 8 AM at all the counting centres. The poll body on Tuesday reiterated that the Bihar witnessed highest voter turnout since 1951, the ECI further thanked all the voters for participating in the process.

While Satish Kumar has witnessed multiple defeats in his political career, he managed to defeat the former Chief Minister and Tejashwi's mother Rabri Devi in the 2010 Assembly election.

The assembly constituency in Vaishali district has been dominated by the Lalu-Rabri family for more than two decades. While Lalu Yadav registered a victory in 2000 election, Rabri Devi won in 2000 (by-poll) and 2005 Assembly election.

Raghopur Assembly constituency is a part of the Vaishali district and has a total of 3,44,369 voters, as per the data of the Election Commission in the 2020 Assembly election.

Tejashwi Yadav has been the MLA from Raghopur for the past ten years. While he remained active in his first term, the locals reportedly claimed that the RJD leader did not visit the region during flood. However, Tejashwi stated that he will set-up multiple factories in the region if the Mahagathbandhan forms a government. 

Jan Suraaj's founder Prashant Kishor decided to not contest the poll against Tejashwi Yadav after a huge speculation. Earlier during a speech, Kishor had stated that he will even contest against the RJD leader if his party workers asked him. However, Kishor later clarified that him contesting on any particular seat will effect the party's campaign.

The newly formed Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj has given ticket to Chanchal Kumar, a local businessman. Kumar stated that the constituency has several basic issues despite being represented by the former deputy chief minister. The Jan Suraaj candidate has promised to set-up factories in the region to curb the migration at a large scale.

Tejashwi Yadav stated that the public "will take care" if the administration will do anything unconstitutional while counting. “Our workers are at all the counting stations and are alert. If the Administration repeats their 2020 mistake again, or anyone crosses their limit, does something unconstitutional and unfair, and if any official acts on anyone's orders, then the public will take care of it,” Yadav stated.

The RJD leader won the 2015 Bihar Assembly election with a margin of 22,733 votes. Apart from this, Tejashwi Yadav defeated Satish Kumar by more than 38,000 votes in the 2020 Assembly election.

The Yadav family has dominated the seat for more than two decades. While Lalu Yadav registered a victory in 2000 election, Rabri Devi won in 2000 (by-poll) and 2005 Assembly election.

The then JDU candidate managed to defeat former chief minister and Tejashwi Yadav's mother Rabri Devi by more than 13 thousand votes.
