8th pay commission calculator: Ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet gave an order to form the 8th pay commission to revise the pay scale of the central government employees, it has become the biggest matter of discussion among salaried individuals. A lot of individuals, whether they are central government employees, retired individuals, or common citizens, have been speculating about what could be the fitment factor, the key measure to revise salary.
Amid all curiosity around pay hike for 50 lakhs central government employees and 65 lakhs pensioners, the union government is yet to appoint the members of the committee.
Can fitment factor be over 2.57
Last time when the recommendations of the 7th pay commission were adopted back in 2016, the fitment factor was 2.57. A lot of employee unions and organisations have been demanding that it should not be less than the previous times.

However, various media reports are suggesting that the fitment factor will not surpass the 2.0 level as the government might consider 1.92, while some reports are suggesting that the fitment factor could go up to 2.86.
8th Pay Commission Salary Calculator
Now, let's take a look at how the salary of a central government employee or pension holder can be revised based on all the speculative numbers discussed above.
- If the government consider retaining 2.57 as fitment factor, then, the basic salary of an employee would go up to 46,260 as compared to 18,000 (the current basic salary). (18,000
- If the 8th pay commission recommends 1.92 as fitment factor, then the basic salary would be 34,560 instead of Rs 18,000
- While the government hikes the fitment factor at 2.86, the basic salary of an individual would be Rs 51,480
8th Pay Commission Pension Calculator: Considering the above three, the minimum basic pension for employees can be Rs 23,130, Rs 17,280 and Rs 25,740 as compared to the current minimum pension of Rs 9,000
Dearness Allowance
The employees have a long-standing demand of merging the dearness allowance in the basic pay.
Employees have a lot of expectations from the upcoming pay commission. However, how many demands are going to be fulfilled will be known only when the announcement for the same is made.
