In honour of Parshuram Jayanti, banks in Himachal Pradesh will be closed on Monday, April 29. The day honours the anniversary of Lord Parshuram's birth, who is considered by Hindus to be Lord Vishnu's sixth avatar. Nonetheless, ATMS, internet banking, mobile banking, and UPI will all continue to operate as usual.

Akshaya Tritia Bank Holiday: Notably, only Himachal Pradesh will experience closures on April 29, but Karnataka will observe a banking holiday on April 30 in honour of Akshaya Tritiya, a significant Hindu holiday linked to wealth and good fortune.

Banks Will Remain Closed On Maharashtra Day

In addition to the series of closures, May 1st will be Maharashtra Day, a public holiday in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Before scheduling any banking activities during this time, customers in these areas are advised to check with their local branches or official websites.

With significant bank closures for regional festivals, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, and Good Friday, April has been a holiday-heavy month. In accordance with RBI regulations, the customary second and fourth Saturdays were also observed as non-working days.
