Bank Holiday On Ambedkar Jayanti 2025: Make sure to finish any urgent banking tasks you have planned for this month by Today i.e. Friday, April 11. Due to a combination of the weekend and regional public holidays, banks will be closed for three days in a row in many parts of India, from April 12 to April 14. The second Saturday, Sunday, and holidays like Tamil New Year, Ambedkar Jayanti, Vishu, and Bihu are all included in this extended closure.

Banks To Remain Closed For Three Straight Days

Banks will close on April 11 in preparation for the start of this long weekend. According to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, banks will close on the second Saturday of April, which is a regular monthly holiday. Banks nationwide will also stay closed on Sunday, April 13. There will be a rare three-day banking halt in many areas on Monday, April 14, as banks in several states will once again close to commemorate Ambedkar Jayanti and local holidays.

There are still more April holidays to choose from. In celebration of festivals like Bengali New Year, Himachal Day, and Bohag Bihu, banks in Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh will be closed on April 15. A second round of Good Friday closures is scheduled for April 18, except for a few states, such as Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar, where banks are anticipated to stay open. Other state-specific holidays include Karnataka's Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya on April 30, Himachal Pradesh's Parshuram Jayanti on April 29, and Tripura's Garia Puja on April 21.

Customers who depend on in-person banking services are advised to carefully schedule their visits because there are numerous public holidays strewn throughout the month. Online banking services will remain operational, but these closures may cause delays in branch-related activities like cash deposits, check clearances, and other over-the-counter services.

Ambedkar Jayanti 2025

Ambedkar Jayanti, a national holiday commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the principal drafter of the Indian Constitution, is also observed on April 14. The country will celebrate its 135th birthday in 2025. Across the nation, the day is commemorated with official events, public gatherings, and tributes. As people honour one of India's greatest social reformers and legal thinkers, statues and memorials of Dr. Ambedkar are decked out with garlands.

Banking clients are urged to be aware of the numerous but important public holidays in April and to take proactive measures to prevent any last-minute annoyances.
