Eid 2025 Bank Holiday: People across the country are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday i.e. march 31. However, since March 31, the last day of the financial year, and Eid-ul-Fitr fall on the same day, people are confused about whether banks are open or closed on this important day. Meanwhile, financial organisations are busy settling their banking and financial works as the current fiscal year is bound to end today. Taking the fact into account, the banks and other financial institutions are open today. The last day of March is the deadline to settle transactions, close accounts, and file taxes before the start of the next fiscal year.
Are Bank Closed On March 31?
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cleared up the misconceptions by saying that banks will remain open on March 31 so that people can have an uninterrupted fiscal shutdown at the end of the year. Banking services will continue to operate normally across the country but some states like Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram will observe the Eid holiday.
Bank Will Remain Closed On April 1
On April 1, banks will close annual accounts to focus on balancing financial records, so regular banking services will not be available to customers. Some states including Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh will also observe a total holiday in April In contrast, March 31 is still a working day for banks.

There are several public holidays in April, so you need to plan your banking activities accordingly.
