Karwa Chauth Bank Holiday Update: On October 10, Thursday, the festival of Karwa Chauth will be celebrated across the country. Since it's not a national holiday declared by the government, people often wonder whether banks and schools will be closed or open on this day.

Bank Closed On Karwa Chauth: List Of States

Banks in Himachal Pradesh will be closed on Friday due to Karwa Chauth, affecting in-person transactions. However, digital services like ATMs, UPI payments, and online banking will continue to operate uninterrupted. Banks in the rest of the country will function normally.

As per the RBI, banks will remain closed only in one state on Karwa Chauth; all the other states will observe normal operation of services.

Along with the above-mentioned holidays, banks will remain closed on Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
