Bank Holiday On Buddha Purnima:  The Banks will remain in different states for four days. The holidays include Buddha Purnima, Nazrul Jayanti/2024, Lok Sabha elections, and Saturday-Sunday. According to the Reserve Bank's holiday list, banks will remain closed in many states on the occasion of Buddha Purnima on Thursday i.e. May 23. However, the digital banking and UPI service will remain available during holidays.

RBI Decides holidays list

There are at least ten holidays this month i.e. May 2024. This includes Saturday off in every second and fourth week and all Sundays in every week. As we know the list of holidays differs state-wise and RBI decides the holiday calendar of all banks for the year considering the holidays declared by the state government.

Bank to remain closed on May 23 in these states

May 23 Budh Purnima Holiday- Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.

May 25 Bank Holiday- May 25 will be closed on Nazrul Jayanti/Lok Sabha General Elections 2024.

May 26- Sunday weekly holiday
