Deepinder Goyal Resigned: Eternal, the parent company of food delivery giant Zomato and quick commerce firm Blinkit, on Wednesday said that Deepinder Goyal will step down from the company's Director, Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) role, effective from February 1.

In an exchange filing, the company said, "the board has accepted the resignation of Deepinder Goyal from the Director, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective close of business hours on February 1, 2026."

Albinder Singh Dhindsa, who is currently heading, will take over as CEO of Eternal.

"The company's board approved the appointment of Albinder Singh Dhindsa (currently, CEO-Blinkit) as Chief Executive
Officer and Key Managerial Personnel of the Company with effect from February 01, 2026," the exchange filing said further.

The company also informed that the board has accepted the recommendation of Goyal's appointment as the Vice Chairman & Director on the Board. However, the same will only be effective upon shareholders’ approval.

Eternal Q3 Results

Eternal reported a 72.88% increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 102 crore for the December quarter of FY26.

Eternal's revenue from operations during the third quarter increased to Rs 16,315 crore from Rs 5,405 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.

However, total expenses also increased to Rs 16,493 crore in the quarter from Rs 5,533 crore a year ago.

Why did Deepinder resign?

In a letter to shareholders, Goyal explained his reasons for stepping down from his role as group CEO.

"Of late, I have found myself drawn to a set of new ideas that involve significantly higher-risk exploration and experimentation. These are the kinds of ideas that are better pursued outside a public company like Eternal. If these ideas belonged inside Eternal's strategic scope, I would have pursued them within the company. They do not. Eternal deserves to remain focused and disciplined, while exploring new areas of growth that are relevant to its current line of business," Goyal stated.
