New Delhi | Jagran Business Desk: Petrol and Diesel prices witnessed a fall for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday (October 6). The plunges comes ahead of elections in Maharashtra and Haryana ahead of Diwali. Today the price of petrol and diesel dropped 9 and 6 paise in the national capital respectively.
In Delhi, petrol price was Rs 73.95 per litre while Diesel was sold at Rs 67.09 on Sunday. In Mumbai, the petrol prices dipped by 10 paise to Rs 79.55 per litre and Diesel prices fell by 29 paise to Rs 70.32 per litre, as per Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
The overall petrol prices have slumped by Rs 67 paise while Diesel prices saw a cut of Rs 40 paise in the last four days in Delhi. The reduction was even higher in Mumbai, where the fuel prices have reduced by 66 paise and 44 paise respectively.
In Chennai, petrol price has been lowered by 69 paise to Rs 76.81 per litre and diesel price plunged by 43 paise to Rs 70.87 per litre after four days of slashing of fuel prices.
Meanwhile, in Kolkata, petrol was sold at Rs 76.58 per litre and Diesel at Rs 69.45 per litre. The prices have been reduced by 65 paise and by 40 paise respectively.
