This moderate but firm increase is being observed across the country's major metropolitan areas. Here's a quick look at how the per-gram prices are stacking up in other key cities for 24-karat gold:
Chennai continues to see some of the highest rates, with the price at Rs 11,509 per gram. Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Hyderabad are all reporting similar prices at Rs 11,488 per gram.
In Ahmedabad and Vadodara, gold is trading slightly higher at Rs 11,493 per gram.
Market analysts attribute the steady rise to a combination of firm international market movements and consistent domestic demand.
With the wedding and festival season on the horizon, jewelers are preparing for an uptick in sales, which could further support the current price levels.
