Gold and Silver rates plummeted in both domestic and international markets amid a sharp decline in the global equity market due to profit booking and ease in global tension post the US-Iran peace deal. Gold Futures, Aug 5 expiry, plunged over Rs 3,590 to an early low of Rs 1,45,710 per 10 grams as compared to last day's closing of Rs 1,49,309 on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Similarly, Silver futures, July 3 expiry, declined over Rs 9,410 to an early low at Rs 2,28,162 per kilogram from last session's closing of Rs 2,37,572 on MCX.

Last seen, MCX gold was trading at Rs 1,46,436, down Rs 2.873 or 1.92 per cent. MCX silver was quoted at Rs 229961, down Rs 7,611 or 3.2 per cent.

22k, 24k Gold Rate Today

Gold prices for all purity levels fell significantly in the domestic retail market as well. According to bullions.co.in, the 24 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,47,520 per 10 grams, while the 22 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,35,227 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, the 20 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,22,933 per 10 grams, and the 18 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,10,640 per 10 grams.
