HDFC Bank share price soared over a per cent to hit a fresh all-time high during Intraday trade on Tuesday. The sharess of HDFC Bank touched Rs Rs 1,837.40 apiece on the NSE, gaining 1.8% from the previous closing price. The blue-chip stock touched its record high amid strong buying momentum.
With the development in the shares today, the market cap of HDFC Bank crossed the Rs 14 lakh crore mark.
HDFC Bank completed a block deal on Tuesday comprising 21.7 lakh shares, claimed media reports. However, The details of the block share sale were not disclosed. As per the previous day's closing price of HDFC Bank, which is Rs 1,804.70 apiece, the total value of the HDFC Bank block deal could be around Rs 392 crore.
The HDFC Bank stock surged over 5 per cent in a month and in a year it jumped over 15%.

Domestic equity benchmark indices rose in early trade on Tuesday, with positive trends in global markets and buying in blue-chip banking stocks such as HDFC Bank and State Bank of India supporting the gains. The BSE benchmark Sensex was trading at 80,816.11, up 568.03 points, or 0.71 per cent, around 11:30 a.m. The NSE benchmark Nifty 50 was trading 160.15 points higher at 24,436.20.
Tokyo, Shanghai Seoul, and Hong Kong were all trading higher in Asian markets.
According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors sold shares worth Rs 238.28 crore on Monday, while domestic institutional investors purchased shares worth Rs 3,588.66 crore. Global benchmark Brent crude increased 0.13 percent to $71.92 a barrel.
On Monday, the benchmark BSE Sensex recovered from early losses to close 445.29 points, or 0.56 percent, higher at 80,248.08. The Nifty rose 144.95 points, or 0.60 percent, to 24,276.05.
