Highest Tax-Paying Celebrities In India:  Bollywood's King Khan alias Shah Rukh Khan topped the list of highest tax-paying celebrities in India. Mr. Khan has paid an advance tax of Rs 92 crore in 2023-24, according to a list compiled by Fortune India magazine. The magazine named the list 'The Star Cast', which ranked Superstar Salman Khan third and Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan fourth based on their advance tax payments.

Virat Kohli paid Rs 66 crore in advance tax in the 2023-24 fiscal year, making him the highest taxpayer among cricketers in the country.

Shahrukh Khan, Thalapathy Vijay emerge as top taxpaying celebrities

"Shah Rukh Khan topped the list of celebrity taxpayers in FY24 while Tamil superstar 'Thalapathy' Vijay moved ahead of players like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Virat Kohli (advance tax payments, FY24)," Fortune India said.

According to the magazine, Thalapathy Vijay paid Rs 80 crore in advance tax, followed by Salman Khan, who paid Rs 75 crore, and Amitabh Bachchan, who paid Rs 71 crore.

Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Kapil Sharma are included in the highest taxpayers celebrity list

Ajay Devgn paid Rs 42 crore advance tax, Ranbir Kapoor paid Rs 36 crore, Hrithik Roshan paid Rs 28 crore, Comedian Kapil Sharma paid Rs 26 crore, and Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan paid Rs 26 crore. 

Many other well-known faces in the entertainment industry also made it to the list.

Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal and Telugu sensation Allu Arjun paid Rs 14 crore each, while Bollywood actress Kiara Advani paid Rs 12 crore advance tax. Katrina Kaif and Pankaj Tripathi both paid Rs 11 crore and superstar Aamir Khan ended up paying Rs 10 crore advance tax in the financial year.

MS Dhoni second top taxpayers amongst Indian cricketers

In the world of cricket, former Indian captain MS Dhoni paid Rs 38 crore in advance tax, second highest after Virat Kohli, while legendary cricketers Sachin Tendulkar paid out Rs 28 crore and former captain Sourav Ganguly ended up paying 23 crore. According to Fortune India list, Hardik Pandya paid Rs 13 crore while Rishabh Pant paid Rs 10 crore in taxes.
