P Kisan The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is one of the top social welfare schemes run bythe  central government to benefit crores of farmers throughout India. Eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 as financial assistance annually, which is split into three equal Rs 2,000 installments. The objective of PM Kisan scheme is to put some money into small and marginal farmers to keep them away from high-interest loans.

19th installment was released in February

On February 24, 2025, the central government disbursed the 19th installment of PM-KISAN, which credited over 9.8 crore farmers' bank accounts with over Rs 22,000 crore. Among the beneficiaries were 2.41 crore women farmers, which is noteworthy.

The 20th installment, which will be the second installment of 2025, is now the subject of growing anticipation. Although the government has not yet provided an official date, the next installment will likely be released in June 2025 based on the scheme's regular disbursement schedule, which is February, June, and October.

What is PM Kisan

The PM-KISAN program was introduced in February 2019 with the goal of giving farmers direct income support by eliminating the need for middlemen through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). 18 installments totaling more than Rs 3.46 lakh crore have been disbursed to farmers thus far. However, the benefits are only available to farmers who own cultivable land.

e-KYC and registration are essential for both new and seasoned farmers

Farmers must visit the official website or the closest Common Service Center (CSC) in order to register under PM-KISAN. The farmers have to bring the following documenst- The Aadhaar number, IFSC Code and Bank Account, Cell Phone Number

E-Kyc must be completed

It is highly recommended that farmers finish their e-KYC and, if needed, update their bank and Aadhaar information. Payment delays or rejections may arise from missing or inaccurate information.

The date of the twentieth installment will be reflected on the PM-KISAN portal as soon as the government formally announces it. In the interim, farmers should make sure their eligibility and supporting documentation are current so they can easily receive their next installment of Rs 2,000.

How To Check Beneficiary Status

- Go to pmkisan.gov.in

- Select "Know Your Status."

- Type in your registration number (or use your mobile number or Aadhaar to retrieve it).

- Complete the captcha and use the OTP to confirm.

- You will see your PM-KISAN status.
