Last Date To Link Aadhaar Card And Ration Card Nears, Here’s How You Can Do It Online

The central government had extended the last date to link your Ration Card with Aadhaar Card from March 31, 2023 to June 30, 2023, as per a notification issued by the Department of Food and Public Distribution on Thursday.

Ration Cards are distributed to all households to get food grains at subsidized rates. Apart from that, Ration Cards are also used as an important document which can also serves as proof of identity and address.

The government has mandated linking Aadhaar Card with your Ration Card as it will prevent individuals from obtaining multiple ration cards. This will also enable them to detain people who are ineligible for getting rations because their income exceeds the threshold. This will also ensure that only those who are deserving receive subsidized fuel or food grains.

Here are steps to link Aadhaar-Ration online —

1. Open the official website of the state's Public Distribution System (PDS) portal.

2. Enter all the details like Aadhaar card number, ration card number, and registered mobile phone number.

3. After entering all the details, click on ‘Continue’ button.

4. A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the registered mobile number.

5. Enter the OTP and click on ‘link ration card Aadhaar card’.
