SBI ATM Fee Hike: The State Bank of India (SBI) has revised its charges for ATM and Automated Deposit-cum-Withdrawal Machine (ADWM) transactions, increasing fees for customers who exceed the free transaction limit at other banks’ ATMs. The new charges came into effect on December 1, 2025, marking the bank’s first such revision since February 1, 2025. The bank said the hike was necessitated by a rise in interchange fees.
The revised fee structure primarily impacts savings and salary account customers who make withdrawals from ATMs of other banks, while certain account categories and specific transactions continue to be exempt from these changes.
Here Is Full Detail Of SBI ATM Transaction Fee Hike
How Much SBI ATM Fee Hiked?
1. Cash withdrawal charges at other banks’ ATMs have been raised from Rs 21 plus GST to Rs 23 plus GST after the free transaction limit is exhausted.
2. Non-financial transaction fees (such as balance enquiry and mini statement) have increased from Rs 10 plus GST to Rs 11 plus GST.
3. SBI said the hike follows higher interchange fees, prompting a revision in ATM service pricing.
4. The new charges mainly impact savings and salary account holders using non-SBI ATMs beyond free limits, while several account types and transactions remain unaffected.
SBI ATM Transection For Saving Accounts
SBI has kept the monthly free ATM transaction limit unchanged for regular savings account customers. Account holders can still carry out up to five free transactions, including both cash and non-cash services, at non-SBI ATMs nationwide. The updated fee structure comes into effect only after this free quota is exhausted.
Number Of Free ATM Transection For SBI Salary Account
Under the revised policy, SBI salary package savings account holders will now be entitled to 10 free ATM transactions per month at other banks’ ATMs across all centres, replacing the earlier facility of unlimited free usage. Once this limit is exceeded, customers will be charged Rs 23 plus GST per cash withdrawal and Rs 11 plus GST for non-financial services such as balance enquiries and mini statements.
Accounts And Transactions Unaffected
1. BSBD account holders will continue with the current fee structure, as no revisions apply to these accounts.
2. SBI debit card users making withdrawals or transactions at SBI’s own ATMs will still enjoy free services under existing guidelines.
