The Indian indices opened on a higher note in Thursday’s early morning trading session. The Sensex was up 125.35 points or 0.19 percent at 66,244.04, and the Nifty was up 28.40 points or 0.14 percent at 19,744.90.
L&T, Sun Pharmaceuticals, JSW Steel, Axis Bank are among top gainers in Nifty on Thursday. Meanwhile, Asian Paints, PowerGrid, M&M, Maruti, Bajaj Finance are among biggest losers in Nifty.
The Indian indices ended higher in the volatile session on September 27 with Nifty above 19,700. At close, the Sensex was up 173.22 points or 0.26% at 66,118.69, and the Nifty was up 51.80 points or 0.26% at 19,716.50.
Major gainers on the Nifty were Coal India, ITC, Larsen & Toubro, Cipla and LTIMindtree, while losers were Titan Company, Grasim Industries, Hero MotoCorp, SBI and BPCL.
Among sectors, PSU Bank, capital good, FMCG, realty and healthcare indices up 0.5-1 percent, while some selling was seen in the oil & gas names.
On the other hand, Indian Rupee opens flat versus previous close at 83.22 against the US Dollar. The domestic currency had opened flat at 83.23 per dollar on Wednesday.

Adani Ports
The company intends to repurchase up to $195 million worth of its 2024 notes at a price below their original issuance. For debt submitted by October 11, the company will offer $975 for every $1,000 of principal. Subsequently, the offer price will decrease to $965 per $1,000.
Reliance Industries
The stock to remain in limelight as Reliance Jio added 39.10 lakh new users in July versus 22.70 lakh users in June.
Tata Power
The Renewable Energy division of the company intends to build a 41-megawatt (MW) captive solar plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. This facility will provide power to TP Solar's forthcoming 4.3-gigawatt (GW) solar cell and module manufacturing unit situated in Tirunelveli.
Nazara Technologies
The company received a tax notice for an amount of Rs 2.83 crore, which includes interest and penalties. The notice is from the Director General of GST Intelligence in Mumbai.
