Stock Market: The benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty rose in early trade on Monday amid the buying of blue-chip stocks such as Reliance Industries and ITC and encouraged retail investor participation. The 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 287.56 points higher at 80,724.40. The NSE Nifty was trading 97.65 points higher at 24,638.80.
Among the 30 Sensex firms, Titan, NTPC, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, ITC, and JSW Steel were the biggest gainers.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Nestle, Tata Motors, and Bharti Airtel were among the laggards. In Asian markets, Shanghai and Hong Kong are trading higher, while Seoul and Tokyo are trading lower.
U.S. markets ended in positive territory on Friday. According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors turned buyers by purchasing equities worth Rs 766.52 crore on Friday.
Domestic institutional investors purchased equities worth Rs 2,606.18 crore on Friday.
The BSE benchmark jumped 1,330.96 points, or 1.68 percent, to 80,436.84 on Friday, posting its best single-day gain in over two months. The NSE Nifty rose 397.40 points or 1.65 percent to a two-week high of 24,541.15 points.
