Stock Market Today: Aftert registering a sharp drop in the oening trade, the domestic stock indices the Sensex and Nifty picked up speed just minutes after the market opened. Additionally, market investors are applauding Operation Sindoor. At 9:30 am, the Sensex hit 80,761.92 level, jumping 120.85 points, or 0.15%. The Nifty was up 52.80 points at 24,432.40.
The Indian stock market opened in negative territory after the Indian armed forces' precise strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK under Operation Sindoor as the major domestic indices are trading in red in early hours on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex today opened at 80,460.59 points, down 180.48 points or 0.22%. At the same time, the NSE Nifty opened at 24,354.00, down 25.60 points or 0.11%. Earlier GIFT Nifty has indicated a slight negative start. As of 7:03 am, GIFT Nifty was at 24,308, down 104 points or 0.43%.
Indian military forces launched missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir early on Wednesday in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. These targets included the Lashkar-e-Taiba base in Muridke and the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur.
Two weeks following the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, the military strikes were carried out under the name "Operation Sindoor."
Stock Market Falls On Tuesday As Well
Due to profit booking, primarily in banking and oil shares, and investors remaining cautious in the face of growing tensions between India and Pakistan, the benchmark indices, the Sensex and Nifty, ended Tuesday's range-bound trading lower.
The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 155.77 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 80,641.07, ending its two-day rally. It fell 315.81 points, or 0.39 percent, to 80,481.03 during the day.
Asian markets Rises
The prospect of US-China trade talks caused Asian markets to rise. The Topix gained 0.38% and Japan's Nikkei 225 increased 0.22%. The Kosdaq dropped 0.7% while the South Korean stock exchange's Kospi increased 0.32%. Futures on Hong Kong's Hang Seng index showed gains.
