Several stocks will trade ex-dividend in the upcoming week. The shares of the companies that will trade ex-dividend next week include Shipping Corporation of India, NMDC, Birla Corporation, and Metro Brands, among others. 

Meanwhile, D-Street will see a series of stock market triggers in the coming week including the Reliance Industries’ annual general meeting (AGM), macroeconomic data, global cues, and more. 

On Friday, the Sensex closed 0.56% lower at 64,886.51 while the Nifty50 settled 0.62% lower at 19,265.80 points.

Dividend stocks:

Birla Corporation: Birla Corporation shares will trade ex-dividend on August 29. The company announced a final dividend of Rs 2.5. 

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank: The company approved a final dividend of Rs 5. The shares of the company will trade ex-dividend on August 29. Other stocks that will trade ex-dividend on August 29 include - Birla Corporation Ltd, Elnet Technologies Ltd, GMM Pfaudler Ltd, Mysore Petro Chemicals, Pilani Investment And Industries Corporation, and Tamilnad Mercantile Bank.

CMS Info Systems: Shares of CMS Info Systems will trade ex-dividend on August 31.

The company announced a final dividend of Rs 4.75. 

NMDC: The company approved a final dividend of Rs 2.85. Shares of the company will trade ex-dividend on August 31.

Shipping Corporation of India: The company declared a dividend of Rs 0.44. The company’s shares will trade ex-dividend on September 1.

Metro Brands: Shares of Metro Brands are also expected to trade ex-dividend next week. Metro Brands posted a 11.6% decline in net profit of Rs 93.5 crore for the quarter ended June. The company’s revenue from operations during the quarter stood at Rs 582 crore.

Meanwhile, the shares of Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd, and Precision Wires India Ltd. Will trade ex-dividend on August 28.

Week ahead:

The gross domestic product (GDP) data for the April-June quarter (Q1) of the current fiscal 2023-24 is expected to be announced on Thursday, August 31. Concurrently, the manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data, and the fiscal deficit and infrastructure sector production, both for the month of July, will also be announced in the coming week.
