Here's how the market opened today:
The benchmark Sensex closed 93 points high at 38,599 while the broader index Nifty rose by 36 points to 11,464, driven by finance and energy stocks amid mixed global cues.

The rupee depreciated by 17 paise to 71.37 against USD.
Brent crude fell 0.17 per cent to USD 58.64 per barrel.

The S&P Sensex continued its upward trend on Wednesday as Sensex gained 144 points at 38,650 points at 9.42 am in early trade while the Nifty 50 was trading nearly 48 high at 11, 476 points.

Fuel prices remained flat on Wednesday for a consecutive fourth day.
Petrol prices per litre
Rs 73.27 in Delhi, Rs 76.09 in Chennai, Rs 78.88 in Mumbai and Rs 75.92 in Kolkata.
Diesel prices per litre
Rs 70.15 in Chennai, Rs 66.41 in Delhi, Rs 68.77 in Kolkata and Rs 69.61 in Mumbai.
Brent crude was also trading flat at USD 58.91 per barrel.
Meanwhile, Gold price and silver price saw a plunge of 0.47 per cent and 1.22 per cent. Gold opened at Rs 38, 235 as against the previous close of Rs 38,226. The price cut comes a week ahead of Diwali festival and particularly Dhanteras when buying gold is considered auspicious.
The prices of gold had soared by 0.4 per cent in the last three days while Silver had also risen by 0.3 per cent on Tuesday.
Gold: Rs 38235 per 10 grams of pure gold.
Silver: Rs 45,877 per kg
