Jagdeep Dhankar Net Worth: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday evening resigned from his post, citing medical reasons. In his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu, Dhankhar said he was stepping down with immediate effect to "prioritise health care". "To prioritise health care and abide by medical advice, I hereby resign as Vice President of India, effective immediately, in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Constitution," he said.

Dhankhar, 74, assumed office in August 2022, and his tenure was till August 2027. The resignation of Dhankhar, also the Rajya Sabha Chairman, came on the first day of the Monsoon session of Parliament. He had recently undergone angioplasty at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi and was admitted to the hospital for a few days in March this year.

Jagdeep Dhankar Net Worth & Assets

While public servants aren’t mandated to disclose detailed asset values, media reports have estimated Dhankhar’s total assets at around Rs 8 crore. According to GoodReturns, Dhankhar's movable property (assets like cars, furniture, or jewellery) is estimated to be worth around Rs 4.5 crores, and his immovable properties are estimated at around Rs 3.5 crores. Besides his salary as Vice President, his income sources could also include earnings from agricultural land, pension, and interest on bank deposits.

Jagdeep Dhankhar Salary

As Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar received a monthly salary of Rs 4 lakh, as per the Salaries and Allowances of Parliament Officers Act, 1953. In addition, he was entitled to travel allowances, security cover and a range of official benefits reflecting the stature of his position. In his role as ex officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, he also performed presidential duties in the President’s absence.
