The festive season platform fee in the national capital is now 10 rupees.

The business stated that such adjustments in our platform fees are a normal business activity that is carried out from time to time and may differ from city to city, without specifying in which cities it has raised platform fees and by how much. Similarly, Swiggy has raised its platform fees, but no one from the company could be reached for comment since it did not respond to our queries.

In 2023, both Zomato and Swiggy originally presented a Rs 2 platform fee, which has now expanded to Rs 10 within a year.

A platform fee is fundamentally a charge for using a specific service. Swiggy presented its platform fee in April 2023, with a representative clarifying that it was intended to help make the platform better and more sustainable. Zomato followed suit in August 2023. Other companies like Zepto, and Flipkart have also presented platform fees while ticketing services like BookMyShow and MakeMyTrip impose comparable fees for booking transactions.

In other updates, Swiggy has lowered the minimum order price for free delivery to Rs 99, while Blinkit has set the threshold for free delivery at Rs 199. Both platforms are progressively pushing for 24/7 service, with Swiggy Instamart recently clocking round-the-Delhi NCR region Radical delivery.
