Abhishek Sharma produced a brilliant batting display to put India back on track in the first T20I against England at Chester-le-Street. India were under pressure after losing Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan early in the innings. However, Abhishek took control and played with confidence, taking the attack to the England bowlers. He scored freely against Liam Dawson and Saqib Mahmood, hitting several boundaries to change the momentum in India's favour.

One of the highlights of his innings was an elegant inside-out six off Dawson. Soon after, he smashed two more sixes in succession against Mahmood to reach a major milestone. Those shots helped him complete 100 sixes in T20 Internationals.

Abhishek reached the landmark in only 785 deliveries, making him the fastest batter from a full-member nation to hit 100 T20I sixes. He went past West Indies opener Evin Lewis, who previously held the record.

The left-hander continued to dominate England's bowling attack with fearless strokeplay. His aggressive approach helped India recover quickly after the early setbacks. He brought up his half-century in just 20 balls, scoring at a strike rate of over 200.

Although Sam Curran eventually dismissed him for a superb 59 off just 24 balls, Abhishek had already given India the perfect platform. His explosive knock helped the visitors reach 99/3 at the halfway stage of the innings and shifted the pressure back onto England.
