ACC Asia Cup Schedule 2023: Pakistan will lock horns with Nepal in the opening match of the Asia Cup 2023 in Multan on August 30 while the much-awaited clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will take place in Kandy, Sri Lanka on September 2, the continental body announced on Wednesday.
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah announced the schedule on Wednesday.

Asia Cup 2023 will take place in a hybrid model with Pakistan hosting four matches and Sri Lanka getting nine games including the summit clash on September 17.
After taking on Pakistan, India will face Nepal in their final group stage match at Kandy on September 4 while Bangladesh will open their campaign against Sri Lanka in Kandy on August 31. In their next encounter, Bangladesh will face Afghanistan in Lahore on September 3.
The final match of the league stage between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will be held in Lahore on September 5.
If Pakistan and India qualify for Super 4s then they will take on each other in Colombo on September 10. The final will be played in Colombo on September 17.
Pakistan will host three league stage matches and a solitary Super 4 match between A1 and B2 in Lahore on September 6.
The tournament will begin a day ahead of its planned schedule announced by the ACC last month.
Pakistan are grouped with India and Nepal in Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are in Group B. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage with the top two teams in this phase advancing to the final.
Asia Cup 2023 will act as a preparatory event for the ODI World Cup 2023 scheduled in October and November in India. Barring Nepal, all five teams will feature in the quadrennial tournament which will begin on October 5.
