AFG vs SL Asia Cup 2025: Afghanistan's star all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has scripted history on Thursday as he became the first Afghanistan cricketer to score 6000 runs. The veteran player needed just three runs during the ongoing tournament, and against Sri Lanka, he achieved the milestone of scoring 6000 runs and did so by taking a single run during the 15th over bowled by ex-Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka.
Till now, Nabi has scored 6000 runs under his kitty after playing in 315 matches. He had smashed 33 runs after playing in three Test matches, where he had scored 3667 runs after playing in 173 ODIs and had scored 2300 runs after playing in 139 T20I matches.
He is Afghanistan's highest run-scorer in the shortest format and is the second-highest run-scorer in ODIs.

In Asia Cup T20Is, Nabi has scored 102 runs after playing in 10 matches and has taken seven wickets.
The match against Sri Lanka is a must-win clash for Afghanistan. If they can defeat Sri Lanka, then they will reach the Super 4s, and if they lose, then Sri Lanka will become the table toppers of Group B and reach the Super 4s with Bangladesh.
Bangladesh has won two of its three Group B matches but has a poor NRR compared to that of Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
The top two teams from this group will lock horns with each other during the Super 4 match on Saturday.
