Ajit Agarkar, who is Team India's chief selector, has admitted that he had lots of disagreements with Rahul Dravid in his stint as the head coach. Dravid, who is known for being calm, is considered one of the nicest people in Indian cricket.

But all this changed when Dravid became the head coach of the Indian team, where he was involved in lots of disagreements with Agarkar in selection meetings. These meetings are usually held behind closed doors, where not everything is revealed to the public, but Agarkar still revealed what happens in these meetings.

“I mean, Rahul Dravid was coach before this — he’s a dear friend — and we've had some, I won’t call it bust-ups, but we’ve had some real disagreements with regards to what he wants. But that’s because we are trying to do what’s in the interest of the team,” Agarkar was quoted as saying to NDTV.

He also talked about how both the skipper and the coach are actively a part of these selection meetings, and their main aim is to pick the best playing XI.

“Eventually, we decide to make. Whether it was with Rahul before or Gautam [Gambhir] now, and even with captains — Rohit before this and Shubman now — we discuss things. Our job is to try to give the best possible 15 so that the captain and coach can have their life made a little bit easier. And if you don't involve them in the discussion, it'll be foolish,” he said.
