India vs Bangladesh Test Series: Indian pacer Akash Deep thanked star batter and teammate Virat Kohli for a special gift he received from him ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh.

Both Akash Deep and Virat are part of the Indian squad for the first Test against Bangladesh which is scheduled to be played in Chennai's MA Chidambaram on September 19.

While Akash Deep will be playing the second successive Test series of his career, Kohli will mark his first appearance in the longest format this year.

On Monday, Deep took to Instagram to share a picture of a cricket bat that was gifted to him by Kohli.

Notably, both cricketers play together for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL and now sharing the Indian team dressing room for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Akash Deep is among the cricketers who have received a bat from Virat Kohli. Earlier in a video released by the RCB, batter Vijaykumar Vyshak said he asked the former India captain for a bat and scored a half-century with it.

During the IPL 2024, KKR str player Rinku Singh was seen asking for multiple bats from Kohli.

Akash Deep made his Test debut for India during their five-match Test series against England at home earlier this year.

He picked up three wickets, which included England openers Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley and number three batter Ollie Pope.

Kohli wasn't part of that series as he opted out due to personal reasons.

Akash Deep was recently seen in action in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 while playing for India A.

He picked up nine wickets in the first-round match against India B across two innings, including a five-wicket haul in the second innings.
