Anaya Bangar, the child of former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar, charmed their Instagram followers with a lovely photoshoot draped in a vibrant red saree of their mother, recreating Kareena Kapoor's iconic "Poo" look from the movie.
Anaya captioned the post: "Pu bani Parvati. Wearing my mom’s saree."
"Poo" here refers to Kareena Kapoor Khan's portrayal of the glamorous and sassy character Pooja Sharma from the iconic Bollywood film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
In the iconic movie, Poo (Kareena) is known for her ultra-stylish and bold character, but her change into a traditional Indian bride, donning a dupatta and performing rituals, prompts the unforgettable dialogue: "Poo bani Parvati."
In the iconic Bollywood film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kareena Kapoor Khan's portrayal of Pooja "Poo" Sharma is marked by glamour and sass. However, one memorable scene showcases her transformation into a traditional Indian bride, with a dupatta over her head and performing rituals, sparking the iconic dialogue "Poo bani Parvati."
Anaya, formerly known as Aryan, recently spoke out about the widespread "toxic masculinity" in the cricketing world. Last year, Anaya shared their transition journey, detailing experiences with hormone replacement therapy and gender-affirming surgery.
"For me, it was when I was eight or nine years old, I used to pick clothes from my mom's cupboard and wear them. Then, I used to look into the mirror and say, 'I am a girl. I want to be a girl," Anaya said in an interview with Lallantop.

Reminiscing on their cricketing career, Anaya added, "I played with some well-known cricketers now like Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal. I had to maintain secrecy about myself because my dad is a well-known figure. The cricket world is filled with insecurity and toxic masculinity."
Anaya also spoke candidly about how their fellow cricketers reacted after undergoing gender-affirming surgery.
"There has been support and there have been some harassments as well. There have been a few cricketers who randomly sent me nude pictures of themselves," Anaya said.
