Australia vs England 5th Test Updates: Travis Head has looked unstoppable in the ongoing Ashes series, and he came up with another outstanding effort with the bat during the fifth and final Test between Australia and England at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday. Head wasted no time in reaching his hundred on the third day of the match, his third century in the five-match series.

Head smashed multiple records and completely took the England bowlers out of the game during his stay at the crease. The left-handed batter has now centuries in seven different venues in Australia as he joined the likes of Steve Waugh, David Warner and Matthew Hayden in an elite list.

Head entered his name in the history books as he matched the former Australian opener Matthew Hayden's record of three centuries in a single Ashes series. Head has slammed three centuries for the Baggy Greens in eight innings of the five Tests played so far.

The 32-year-old batter also went past legendary Don Bradman's stunning 96-year-old achievement with his magnificent century. He registered the joint-fourth fastest 150 in the history of Ashes, going past Bradman, who achieved the feat at the iconic Lord's back in 1930 off just 166 balls. Head is the only batter to feature on this list twice, having smashed a 143-ball 150 five during the 2021 Ashes as well in Brisbane. Joe Darling of Australia owns this record, having scored 150 off just 129 deliveries back in 1898, while Adam Gilchrist got close to him with a 141-ball 150, 103 years later in 2001.

Head went on to play a memorable knock of 163 runs in 166 balls on the back of 24 fours and a six as he helped the Aussies to go past the 300-run mark in their first innings. He was dismissed by Jacob Bethell in the 68th over.

Notably, Head, who has been a consistent performer for Australia over the past couple of years, became only the second player for them after David Warner to record 500-plus runs in an Ashes series since the start of 2000.
