Ashes 2025-26: Cricketer-turned-Commentator Stuart Broad had a funny reaction to Glenn McGrath’s prediction for the upcoming Ashes series scheduled to take place down under. McGrath in his interaction with BBC Radio, stated that Pat Cummins-led Australia will steamroll England 5-0.

“It’s very rare for me to make a prediction, isn’t it? And I can’t make a different one – 5-0. I’m very confident with our team. When you’ve got Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon firing in their home conditions, it’s going to be pretty tough. Plus, that track record England have had, it’d be interesting to see if they can win a Test,” McGrath had said on ‘BBC Radio’.

Broad took to his official X account as he asked McGrath to let England in Australia first before he makes any prediction.

“It’s August!! At least let us land Glenn!,” Broad said.

Moeen Ali Calls Warner A 'Clown' For Targeting Joe Root

Moeen Ali also responded to David Warner for his jibe on Joe Root of having no tons in Australia. ‘He’s just being Warner. He’s a bit of a clown to be honest with you. He’s trying to, obviously, get into Rooty’s head, which he won’t. He’s not up for the whole banter thing. It’s just Warner, isn’t it?’ Ali said on the Beard Before Wicket podcast.

Since 2002–03, they have lost all but one series in Australia, going 0–5 or 0–4. They won a 3-1 series in 2010–11, which was their last Test victory. Their last Test win came in 2010-11.

England need to seek answers ahead of the five-match Ashes series in Australia later this year. If they harbour aspirations of reaching the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final for the first time, then a positive result Down Under is crucial.

England will also be hoping that Mark Wood will be fit to make the trip to Australia as his pace will surely be an asset, with the likes of Josh Tongue, Brydon Carse, and Gus Atkinson all in consideration for selection too.
