Ahead of their final Asia Cup Super Four match against Sri Lanka, Pakistan have suffered a blow as pacer Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the tournament with a shoulder injury. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has roped in right-arm pacer Zaman Khan as Naseem's replacement for the remainder of the continental competition.
"Zaman joined the team in the morning today and will train with the squad at the RPICS in the evening," the PCB said in a statement.
Naseem suffered the injury on his right shoulder during the match against India at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Monday. He continues to be monitored by the team’s medical panel that is taking all necessary precautions keeping in mind the ODI World Cup 2023, PCB informed.

Zaman has represented Pakistan in the shortest format but is yet to make his debut in the ODI. In six T20Is, Zaman has scalped four wickets at an average of 32.5 and a 6.66 economy rate.
Update on Haris Rauf's injury
Pakistan also provided an update on pacer Haris Rauf's injury who remained unavailable to bowl on the reverse day against India as a precautionary measure. As per the PCB statement, the pacer 'continues to recover well after he felt discomfort in his right flank on the first day of the match'.

Pakistan team doctor Sohail Saleem said, “These two fast bowlers are our assets and the team’s medical panel will provide them the best possible care ahead of the all-important World Cup.”
Fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani, who was called as backup for Haris Rauf, will join the team on Thursday morning.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will compete in the Super Four clash to set up the Asia Cup final against India. Rohit Sharma-led defeated both Pakistan and Sri Lanka to book a spot for the summit clash on Sunday, September 17.
Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in Colombo on Thursday, September 14.
