Asia Cup 2025 8 days to go: The Asia Cup 2025 is all set to begin from September, where Afghanistan will lock horns with Hong Kong at the Sheikh Zayed cricket stadium. India was supposed to host the upcoming continental tournament, but now it will be held in the UAE in two stadiums.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium will host the matches for this tournament. The group stage matches would be held at both these stadiums, whereas the playoffs would be played in the Dubai International cricket stadium and the summit clash as well.

Here's everything you need to know about the venues of the Asia Cup 2025:

Dubai International Cricket Stadium

It is one of Dubai's largest cricket stadiums. The venue is known for high-scoring matches and the Ring of Fire floodlight systems. In the upcoming continental tournament, the high-octane clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan would be held here on September 14.

Pitch Behaviour

The surface at the Dubai International Stadium is batter-friendly. It provides good bounce and carry, and that helps the batters to play freely.

Pacers will also get help as the new ball will have sharp movement and bounce, but it also slows down as the match goes on.

Batting Assistance

The surface here is usually batter-friendly throughout the match. Batters just don't score runs during the powerplay or the death overs, but they are also able to smash fours during the middle overs as well. The surface provides good bounce and carry, and that makes batting easier. Once the match goes on, the pitch does become slow, where spinners can give the batters a hard time.

Bowling Assistance

Seamers are also able to get early swing and bounce, but since the surface is batter-friendly, they aren't able to take wickets regularly. The surface does become spinners-friendly as the match goes on.

Toss

Whichever captain wins the toss chooses to bowl first, as chasing is quite easy under lights owing to dew. Whichever team is bowling first has more chances of winning matches here.

Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium

This is the second venue where the Asia Cup 2025 matches would be held, and it has a seating capacity of 20,000 people. This venue was built way back in 2004 in the name of Sheikh Zayed, who is the founder of the UAE. This venue has two ends- namely, the North end and the Pavilion end.

Location

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Stadium Capacity

This venue boasts a seating capacity of 20,000 people.

Stadium Dimension

The size of the leg side boundary is 65m.

The offside boundary can go up to 79m.

The straight boundary can extend by 76m.

The size of the back side boundary is 79m.

Pitch Behaviour

The surface here is batter-friendly and also has a brownish tinge and little grass, which helps both the batters and the spin bowlers on a flat and slow pitch.

Bowling Assistance

Pacers might get an early bounce from the surface with very little seam movement in the power play of the first innings. Spinners are expected to play a huge role during the later stages and especially the ones that have turn-through footmarks. The pacers might get some help earlier, but they must depend on bounce rather than seam.

Batting Assistance

This surface is mostly batter-friendly as it helps the batters in stroke play. The quick outfield of the venue also helps in smashing fours. The surface doesn't lose its nature in the match, and that's why chasing here becomes quite easier.

Toss

Whichever captain wins the toss will choose to bat first owing to the batter-friendly conditions during the first innings. The surface becomes spin-friendly during the second innings, and that's why the team will try to post a mammoth target to keep their opponent's spinners at bay. In the shortest format, owing to dew impacting bowling during the second innings, it forces the captains to bowl after winning the toss.
