India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan are likely to face disciplinary action from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for their provocative gestures during the high-voltage match against India in their Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash, as per news agency PTI.

"The ICC hearing of Pakistan cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for allegedly provocative actions during the Asia Cup game against India was completed here on Friday and sanctions are likely for some of the gestures, according to tournament sources," a report in PTI read.

Rauf is likely to face disciplinary action from the ICC for his gesture on the field during the match against India, where he allegedly used abusive language and made aggressive gestures.

According to reports in PTI, Rauf's actions on the field may result in a fine as the ICC is considering taking action under the code of conduct.

On the other hand, Farhan, who, in his celebratory gesture, pulled out a gun-firing motion during the match, has stated that the exuberant gesture he made is a deeply rooted tradition in his Pakhtun heritage.

Farhan has pleaded not guilty to any code of conduct violation for his gunfire gesture, claiming that it is a "traditional way of celebrating in his ethnic Pakhtun tribe" in Pakistan.

Match referee Richie Richardson headed the disciplinary hearing for the two Pakistan players, who appeared in person to respond to the charges.

Rauf's gesture, perceived as mocking Indian fans by mimicking falling planes, while Farhan's celebratory gesture after his half-century in the game was also seen as offensive by the Indian side.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) filed a formal complaint against the two Pakistani players, accusing them of making provocative gestures during the match.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also lodged a complaint against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav for his post-match comments, where he dedicated India's win to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the Indian Armed Forces.

Apparently, Suryakumar pleaded not guilty to the charge but was apparently told not to make any statement that could be construed as political in the remainder of the tournament.

The ICC has yet to issue an official statement regarding the controversy surrounding the India-Pakistan match.
