Asia Cup 2025 Tentative Schedule: With the time getting near, the uncertainty over the Asia Cup 2025 is getting clearer with a latest report claiming that the tournament is likely to start on September 5 and the title clash will take place on September 21.

Now, as per Timesofindia.com, despite significant geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has nearly finalised the 17-day window with India set to face Pakistan on September 7 as initially planned.

As per the reports, all participating nations, including India as the official host, are close to getting clearances from their respective governments to participate in the tournament.

India to play Pakistan in the Asia Cup

The multi-national event will see a group stage and Super Fours format; thus, fans are likely to witness the India vs Pakistan contest at least twice.

Amid all this, the official broadcaster of the tournament, Sony, recently shared a poster of the tournament, starting the promotional activities.

However, a big question mark still hangs over India's participation in the multi-nation tournament, given the border tensions between India and Pakistan after a dastardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir), which left 26 dead. India subsequently had a strong retaliatory response, "Operation Sindoor," which reportedly destroyed multiple terror camps in Pakistan in May.

Following the deadly attack, some reports suggested that India might pull out of the tournament, but BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia later denied the claims.

“The Asia Cup matter or any other ACC event issue has not come up for discussion at any level, till now. BCCI has not even discussed or taken any such steps regarding ensuing ACC events, leave alone writing anything to the ACC. At this stage, our prime focus is on the ongoing IPL and subsequent England series, both men and women," Saikia had said.
