Asia Cup 2025 Points Table: Bangladesh have kept their Super Four hopes alive in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 as they defeated Afghanistan by 8 runs in match 9 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Bangladesh have concluded their group B campaign in the tournament and managed to register their second win. They remain in the second position in the Asia Cup 2025 points table of group B, and their fate will now be decided by the result of the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
Sri Lanka are placed at the top of the group B standings, whereas Hong Kong have been eliminated.
In match 9 of the tournament, Bangladesh opted to bat first and posted a challenging total of 154/5 in their 20 overs. Tanzid Hasan was their top run-getter, having played a 52-run knock in 31 balls with the help of four boundaries and three sixes. They produced an impressive bowling effort and bowled Afghanistan out for 146 runs.
Mustafizur Rahman picked up three wickets, whereas Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed and Rishad Hossain found a couple of scalps each.
In the group A points table, India stand at the top and have already qualified for the Super Fours after defeating the UAE and Pakistan in their first two matches.
