Asia Cup 2025: Following the ouster of Dream as the title sponsor of the Indian Cricket Team, the players are likely to be forced to play without a Title sponsor on their jersey, a report in India Today stated. The report further stated that BCCI (The Board of Control for Cricket in India) is looking to get a new Title sponsor till the ODI World Cup 2027, with the process getting a bit delayed.

The interim President, Rajiv Shukla, discussed the need for a title sponsor, but no timeline has been specified yet. With the Asia Cup knocking at the door, starting September 9, the report stated that it has already been too late for a deal.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devajit Saikia recently confirmed the split between the board and Dream11, citing the Online Gaming Bill as the reason. In 2023, Dream11 replaced Byju's, whose contract ended in March that year, and had signed the agreement with BCCI for a period of three years.

Saikia also said that the BCCI will ensure it does not indulge any such organisations in the future.

“Under the new legislation, it will be difficult for BCCI to continue with Dream11 or any other identical gaming companies. So, there is a roadblock and I don't think BCCI will be able to continue with Dream11 now. We are deliberating on an alternative course of action at this stage,” said Saikia to IANS.
