AUS vs SA 1st T20I: Australia's T20I skipper Mitchell Marsh opened the innings during the 1st T20I against South Africa. In the series opener, which is being held in Darwin, Marsh began his knock by smashing a six in Lungi Ngidi's over. This six helped Marsh create history.
He had become the first Australian cricketer to have smashed a six on the first ball of the shortest format. Former Australian skipper Aaron Finch, too, had hit a six on the first ball in this format, but he did so while chasing a target.
Post smashing a six, he then hit a four on the second ball and thus gave a flying start to the visitors, but failed to convert it into a big knock. He was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada.

During the first ball of the fourth over, Marsh aimed to play a big shot, but he mistimed the ball, and Kwena Maphaka took his catch.
Marsh had become the third Australian batter to be dismissed on Sunday. Rabada had also taken Travis Head's wicket, and George Linde had dismissed Josh Inglis for a golden duck during the third over.
SA opt to bowl first
During the series opener, South Africa skipper Aiden Markram had won the toss and chose to bowl first. The visitors entered the series after winning the five-match T20I series against the West Indies at their backyard, whereas the hosts lost to New Zealand during a T20I tri-series held in Zimbabwe last month.
