AUS vs WI 3rd T20I: Tim David took the Warner Park by a storm by showing brilliant batting prowess as he had hit the fastest hundred in the shortest format as an Australian batter and helped the team win the five-match T20I series against West Indies. Australia is currently leading the series by 3-0 after winning the match on Friday by six wickets.

David brought up his hundred off just 37 balls and broke the earlier record held by Josh Inglis (43 balls vs Scotland, 2023). During his match-winning knock, David had smashed six fours and eleven sixes and helped the visitors chase the target of 215 runs with 23 balls remaining.

David not just maintained his dominance while chasing but also helped the team register their fourth-highest successful run-chase in this format.

Shai Hope carries the West Indies

While batting first, West Indies captain Shai Hope also showed his batting prowess and scored his first hundred in the shortest format. He had scored 102 runs off 57 balls, in which he had smashed eight fours and six sixes.

His batting partner Brandon King took the Australian bowlers to the cleaners as he scored a gritty knock of 62 runs off 36 balls. Both the batters built a brilliant partnership of 125 runs for the first wicket in 11.4 overs and gave the hosts a flying start.

Sean Abbott was the pick among the Australian bowlers as he registered brilliant figures of 4-0-21-0 and bowled at an economy of 5.25.

Tim David goes berserk in St Kitts

The visitors didn't have a flying start to their chase. Even though they stitched a partnership of 65 runs inside the powerplay, the team lost three wickets cheaply, where captain Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, and Josh Inglis failed to convert the‏ir starts. Camero Green was seen struggling with his rhythm as he could score just 11 runs off 14 balls and then was dismissed by Romario Shepherd, who took two important wickets.

Australia was tottering at 87/ and that's when Tim David and Mitchell Owen helped the team bounce back by stitching a match-winning partnership of 128 runs for the fifth wicket and took the West Indies bowlers to the cleaners. As David's record-breaking century grabbed the limelight, it was Owen who played the role of a second fiddle as he scored a quickfire knock of 36 runs off 16 balls.

David single-handedly took the team across the line by smashing a four in Shepherd's over.
