BAN-W vs ENG-W, Women's World Cup: Sophie Ecclestone showcased her class, claiming 3/24, as England's spinners underpinned the team's dominance that bundled out Bangladesh for 178 in their Women's World Cup encounter at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.
For Bangladesh, Sobhana Mostary docked the innings with a resilient 60 off 108 balls, while coming in at number nine, Rabeya Khan provided some much-needed impetus with a cameo 43 off just 27 balls.
Besides Ecclestone, off-spinners Charlotte Dean (2/28 in 10 overs) and Alice Capsey (2/31 in 8 overs) chipped in with two wickets for England.

Put to bat first, Bangladesh started confidently with Sharmin Akhter hitting 14 runs off a Lauren Bell over. However, Linsey Smith's left-arm spin soon posed a challenge, keeping Sharmin and Rubya Haider in check.
While Smith, who was handed the new ball, kept things tight at one end, Bell pounded in her third over when she removed Rubya Haider after a mistimed lofted shot by the batter finished in the hands of Sophia Dunkley.
Skipper Nigar Sultana looked to be in a double mind as she played a half-hearted drive in the air after the ball was intercepted on her, giving a catch to Charlie Dean at short cover off the bowling of Smith.

Sultana was sent packing for a duck, and Bangladesh's promising start soon turned precarious as they lost two wickets in quick succession.
Sobhana Mostary and Akhter formed an important 34-run partnership, showcasing extravagant strokeplay, before Ecclestone's classic left-arm spin trapped Akhter LBW in the 16th over.
