The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, September 2, made the official announcement of the release of the Invitation for Expression of Interest for national team lead sponsor rights. In a release shared on X, the BCCI invites bids from reputable entities for acquiring the national team lead sponsor rights.
"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) invites bids from reputed entities for acquiring the National Team Lead Sponsor Rights. Accordingly, the BCCI is issuing an Invitation for Expression of Interest for National Team Lead Sponsor Rights (IEOI), which provides the detailed terms and conditions governing the submission and evaluation of bids. The IEOI will be made available on receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 500,000 (Indian Rupees Five Lakh Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax," the release stated.

The change has come ahead of the all-important Asia Cup 2025 after Dream11 informed the BCCI that it would no longer be the Indian cricket team's sponsor, following a parliamentary law that banned real-money-based online gaming.

Notably, Dream11 had begun a deal with the BCCI in 2023 worth US$44 million (approximately Rs 358 crore) until 2026. Together with My11Circle, another fantasy sports platform, the two companies contributed nearly INR 1,000 crore to the BCCI through sponsorship of the Indian cricket team and the IPL.
The Indian cricket board has now issued an Invitation for Expression of Interest for National Team Lead Sponsor Rights ("IEOI"). As per the release, Interested brands can acquire the IEOI by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 5 lakh plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax.
The last date to purchase the IEOI is 12 September 2025, while the last date to submit the bid documents is 16 September 2025. It means the Indian cricket team could get a shirt sponsor before the Asia Cup 2025 final, which is scheduled to be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
The Men in Blue, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, will start their campaign against the UAE in Dubai on 10 September, whereas their next match is against arch-rivals Pakistan on 14 September. India are expected to be without a shirt sponsor in the mega match against Pakistan.
