The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed a noteworthy overhaul of match fees for women cricketers and officials in domestic cricket, more than doubling their compensation, a move believed to have been triggered by Indian women's cricket team's maiden ODI World Cup triumph.

According to PTI, the green signal to a substantial pay hike for women cricketers was given in the BCCI's Apex Council, effective immediately.

As per the revised structure, senior women cricketers playing their trade in domestic tournaments will now earn Rs 50,000 per day, a significant jump from the existing Rs 20,000 (Rs 10,000 for reserves) per match day.

Senior players in the first XI will now earn Rs 50,000 per day in one-day and multi-day competitions, while reserves will receive Rs 25,000 per day.

In national T20 tournaments, first XI players will receive Rs 25,000 per match day, with reserves receiving Rs 12,500.

If a top domestic women's cricketer now plays across all formats during a full season, she can gain anywhere between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 14 lakh, according to BCCI officials.

The Apex Council has also boosted the income for junior women cricketers. Players in the Under-23 and Under-19 classes will be paid Rs 25,000 per day, while reserves will get Rs 12,500.

Match officials, including umpires and match referees, will also profit from the revised fee structure. For league games in domestic tournaments, the presented earnings for umpires and match referees will be Rs 40,000 per day.

Umpires officiating Ranji Trophy league matches will see their earnings jump to approximately Rs 1.60 lakh per game, with knockout fixtures fetching a lucrative Rs 2.5-3 lakh per match.
